Norsk Tipping, Hello Mr. Double Standards!
Posted in Poker on februar 27th, 2011 by Deltidspoker
Just read in the biggest Norwegian newspaper that there are concerns that Norsk Tipping (Norwegian Betting) are dangerous for people with an addiction, cause of the secureness they seemingly provide. Dangerous or not, the Norwegian Government (Owner of Norwegian Betting) has the worst double standards ever.
I think they did great when they prohibited slots, but what was the point when they just replaced them with Norwegian Betting’s own slots? They look just as fancy and intriguing as the old ones.
And poker, the gambling game that has the most skill involved is of course illegal in all forms (except minor, minor exceptions), while they introduce games like Keno with commercials all over the place.
Finally, they now have to face these aptly allegations, and I must say I am not really impressed by the bs answers provided. It’s the same old, same old “we have a responsible gambling politic yada yada”, but still they spend around 300 000 000 NOK (50 000 000$) per year in advertising (I think I recall correctly, at least in 2007 it was 186 700 000).
Hopefully, one day I’m actually not a criminal for playing a 100$ tournament in Norway…
