Finally a Good Day Again :)

Posted in Min Poker, Poker on januar 24th, 2011 by Deltidspoker

I finally had a winning day again, netting a couple of buy-ins :) I went out with a friend Saturday, so Sunday was never going to be anything other than a day for chillin’ ;) I started the day with a well planned, ice cold Coca-Cola and some Winter sports on TV. Then I had a few sessions throughout the day, with minor food, Call of Duty: Black Ops and laying flat out breaks in between.

Flopped pretty sweet with queens, but I wasn’t actually that happy when he shoved the river. The way I have been running lately, I was expecting 33/66 here :D He totally misplayed AA instead which was pretty awesome :D

My First Custom Built Gaming PC

Posted in Min Poker, Poker on januar 22nd, 2011 by Deltidspoker

For a long time I have done all my computer work/fun on a laptop, hooked up to a 24” Dell Widescreen. However, I have always wanted a desktop with two big 24” monitors and way more power than a laptop can provide. This week I bought all the parts and went on to build my first custom computer.

It went pretty smoothly and even though I was a bit confused as to were to put all those wires and cables, I got it to work on the first try :)

So now I have a great setup in my room, and I have a PC that is awesome to play poker at AND other games. I ran Call of Duty: Black Ops on maximum settings the other day, and there was no lag of any sort. Pretty sweet!

I have already gotten to grind for a few hours on my new monster, and it feels great. My poker results aren’t as fine, but whatever, they will be when this little downswing turns :)

My First Coaching Session

Posted in Min Poker, Poker on januar 20th, 2011 by Deltidspoker

Today I had my first coaching session ever with one of the most successful players at rush at Full Tilt Poker. I really enjoyed it, both from a poker point of view, but also from a coach educational view.

My hopes is that I can use this experience to some day do some coaching myself. However, I feel it is important to plug any big leak that may exist before I maybe coach players on lower limits.

It was a one hour session which started with a little Hold’em Manager review, before I went on two-tabling 400NL with the coach watching my desktop. We had some interesting hands along the way, and used the quiet periods to talk about poker and other life related stuff. I’m looking forward to taking a couple more lessons, the next one just over the weekend. I wanted to share one hand that illustrates to some extend how bad I’m running at the moment. I obviously didn’t call him and he obviously had me :D

Focusing on the Grind

Posted in Min Poker, Poker, Student on januar 18th, 2011 by Deltidspoker

This week I will finally get my master thesis underway and I actually have something to do when I’m at the office at NTNU. So much better to have some work to do. Imagine if you were to just sit and stare at 4 empty poker tables for 6 hours, without even playing a single hand. Boring? Definitely!

I had a great start to the year with some super 2/4 rush poker results, but last week it really turned the other way around and I became a helpless spectator when the buy-ins just kept dissapearing. I decided to move down to 1/2 again, which is considerably softer, and really focus on my game and get my confidence back. Well, guess what? It’s back :D

English it is :)

Posted in Poker on januar 16th, 2011 by Deltidspoker

So it looks like my readers (or at least 6 of them ;) ) all agree that I should start to write in English, and unless something out of the ordinary happens to those stars in the last post, I’ll do just that.

It will probably take some time to rewrite some of the stuff on the site, and I’m not sure if I’ll keep some of the Norwegian content like the “poker-course” online :) Time will show!

Until next time, good luck at the tables or with whatever else you’re up to :)

Norsk eller engelsk?

Posted in Poker on januar 15th, 2011 by Deltidspoker

Posted in Årlige Rapporter, Min Poker, Poker on januar 13th, 2011 by Deltidspoker
